NCAAB: Wildcats vs Tigers Predictions

NCAAB  betting action sees the Kentucky Wildcats taking on the LSU Tigers on Tuesday February 10 at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.  Cappers Picks provides free NCAAB handicapping tips all season long.

The top team in the nation is undefeated but I think they are going to get all they can handle from an underrated LSU team down on the Bayou.

Kentucky

The Wildcats are the top team in the nation and they are still undefeated. However, they continue to have closer than expected calls, most recently a 7 point win at Florida.

The Cats have lost 5 of their last 6 against the number and this one looks like it could very easily be another one.

There is no doubt that Kentucky is the most talented team in the country but they seem to enjoy playing down to their competition.

A trait that my hurt them when it matter the most.

When you look at the numbers of the Wildcats they are skewed lower because nobody logs heavy minutes.

That being said I think they might be concerned about the play of Andrew Harrison.

He (and his brother) are having terrible shooting years and you have to wonder if the reserve backcourt of Devin Booker and Tyler Ullis might be the better one.

Those guys are just frosh but you have wonder if a bad situation might be brewing there.

LSU

This LSU team is better than you think. There is some real next level talent on this team which is why they can frustrate folks.

The challenge they have is that all of their top talent is up front and without strong guard play it can be tough to take advantage of.

There is no way this club should lose to Auburn at home but thankfully they snapped their two game losing streak with a win over Alabama on the weekend.

For my money these guys are the second or third best team in the SEC.

This is an intriguing matchup because the Tigers have good size up front. Jordan Mickey and Jarrell Martin average 33 points and 20 rebounds between them and the will challenge the frontline of UK as much as any has this season.

They have some other long bodies they can throw in there too but they will need those guys to be big, literally.

To do so they have to get steady play from the backcourt. Kentucky is a top defensive team. They do not make it easy.

NCAAB Handicapping Trends:

  • Over is 8-3 in LSU last 11 Tue. games.
  • Over is 20-8 in LSU last 28 vs. Southeastern.
  • Over is 7-3 in LSU last 10 overall.
  • Road team is 13-5 ATS in the last 18 meetings.

NCAAB Prediction:  LSU +10

This is as much a fade of a perfect season as anything.

NCAAB Score prediction:  LSU 74 – Kentucky 69

On the road against a quality team, with size, the Wildcats finally fall.
