Duke

The Blue Devils are perfect coming into this one but just one of their game so far has been a challenge – a 10 point win over Michigan State.

Now they face an even more highly ranked B10 foe in what will be their most challenging game before ACC play starts in the New Year.

This is a very well thought of Duke team loaded with talent but this will be a real test as they hit the road for the first time all season.

It is not very often that the Blue Devils are an underdog outside the ACC which tells you something.

Similar to last year Duke is having no problem letting a star freshman lead the way.

This year it is Jahlil Okafor who is leading the team in scoring at 17ppg while shooting 63% from the field. With fellow frosh Justise Winslow and Tyus Jones 3rd and 5th on the team in scoring respectively the Dookies are younger than any team that I can remember.

They are really good too and will be better once they get Rasheed Sulaimon going.

Wisconsin

The Badgers high ranking at this stage of the season is rare praise for one of the most consistent programs around.

Wisconsin is always good but usually it takes most of a season for the nation to wake up to that fact. Not this year though as they are thought to be the class of the B10 with some margin.

So far they have lived up to expectations with a perfect record and only one close contest against a pretty good Georgetown team.

This is the biggest game of the year for them if the B10 is truly down this season.

Wisconsin may not have the depth up front of a Kentucky but in Frank Kaminsky, Nigel Hayes and Sam Dekker they have three frontcourt player averaging more than 12ppg while shooting better than 50%.

Kaminsky is going to have his hands full with Okafor tonight as he will be asked for a little more on the defensive end.

NCAAB Handicapping Trends:

  • Under is 14-6 in DUKE last 20 Wed. games.
  • DUKE are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 road games.
  • Over is 7-3 in DUKE last 10 vs. Big Ten.
  • WIS are 10-1-1 ATS in their last 12 games overall.
  • WIS are 9-1-1 ATS in their last 11 home games.
  • WIS are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 Wed. games.

NCAAB Prediction:  Duke +3

On the other hand, his best weapon may be to use his crafty game to get the frosh in some early foul trouble.

NCAAB  Score prediction: Duke 76 – Wisconsin 69

I always tend to underrate Wisconsin because I think they are going to be outplayed by more athletic teams. In this case they are just not as good as Duke I think.  Duke +3 is always good value.
