The Connecticut Huskies, the winners out of the West Region square-off against the Kentucky Wildcats, the winners out of the East, in the second game of Saturday’s NCAA Men’s Tournament’s Final Four in Houston. Tip-off from Reliant Stadium is set for 8:49 p.m. (ET) and the game will be broadcast on CBS.

Connecticut’s five-game run to the Big East Tournament Championship as now turned into a nine game winning streak and a trip to the Final Four. Fatigue has not been an issue as the energized Huskies took out Bucknell and Cincinnati with relative ease in their first two games and then pulled of its first upset with a 74-67 win over No.2 seed San Diego State in the Sweet 16 as a two-point underdog. They capped the four-game run off with a 65-63 win over No.5 seed Arizona as a 3 ½-point favorite in the Elite Eight.

The main story for Connecticut this postseason has been the play of Kemba Walker. He is averaging 26.8 points a game in this tournament including a game-high 36 points in the win over the Aztecs and a team-high 20 points against the Wildcats. Freshman guard/forward Jeremy Lamb has also played a huge role with 24 points against San Diego State and 19 against Arizona.

Kentucky’s march to Final Four almost ended before it ever really began with a major scare against No.13 seed Princeton in its first game. The Wildcats prevailed with a 59-57 win as a 12 ½-point favorite. They got things going with a 71-63 win over No.5 seed West Virginia as a 3 ½-point favorite and proved they are for real by knocking-off No.1 seed Ohio State 62-60 in the Sweet 16 as a 5 12-point underdog. Kentucky won the East Region with a hard-fought 76-69 win over No.2 seed North Carolina as a 1 ½-point favorite.

Brandon Knight, one of three freshman starters, has come into his own in this tournament with a game-winning jumper against the Buckeyes and a team-high 22 points against the Tar Heels. DeAndre Liggens and Josh Harrelson have also come up big during this run; combining for 33 points in the win over the Ohio State.

The Huskies rolled to an 84-67 win over Kentucky in late November as a 4 ½-point road underdog but there is no way that things will be that easy for Connecticut this time around. None the less, keep riding the hot hand of Kemba Walker and take the points in this one.
