The top seeded team in the Pac-10 tournament, the Arizona Wildcats, will be watching the first round tournament game between the eighth seeded Stanford Cardinal and the nine seeded Oregon State Beavers at Staples Center on Wednesday.

The teams split two games in the regular season, with the home team winning each time. Stanford also split the season series with Arizona State, Oregon, Washington, and Washington State. Oregon State posted splits with Arizona, Arizona State, USC, and Washington.

Stanford has three players that are the offensive leaders of the club. The Cardinal are led by Jeremy Green, who scored 16.5 points per game – good for fifth in the league. Guard Jarrett Mann is fourth in the Pac-10 in assists at 4.1 per contest. In addition, big man Josh Owens is fourth in the Pac-10 in field goal percentage, shooting at 58.3 percent from the floor. Stanford enters the game at 15-15 overall, so they need to win this game to give themselves an outside chance at an NIT bid.

Anthony Brown is a swingman for the Cardinal that Oregon State must account for. In the two games head-to-head this season, Brown combined to score 33 points on 10-for-21 shooting.

For the Beavers, they would love nothing more than to win four straight games in this tournament, and then with the automatic bid win six more games in the NCAA tournament, and have their head coach lead them to a ceremony at the White House. Of course, head coach Craig Robinson knows his way around at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue – his sister is First Lady Michelle Obama.

As for the Beaver team on the floor, they are led by the scoring of sophomore guard Jared Cunningham. A native of Oakland, Cunningham is the only OSU player averaging in double figures at 13.6 points per game. Another to watch for is Beavers reserve guard Ahmad Starks, who led the team in three-point field goals made.

CBB Betting Trends:

Over is 7-2 in STAN last 9 overall.
Over is 7-2 in STAN last 9 vs. Pacific-10.
OREST are 7-16 ATS in the last 23 meetings.

Matt’s Free Prediction: Stanford – The Cardinal shot over 50 percent from the floor in both meetings with the Beavers this season. They are much more consistent scoring the basketball, and that consistency will help them earn this victory.
