Two teams ranked in the top 25 from the Big 12 Conference play an important late-season league contest as the Texas A&M Aggies visit the Kansas Jayhawks in Lawrence.

Despite an RPI of 30, the Aggies figure to be one of the six schools taken into the NCAA Tournament from the Big 12 when the selection committee announces the brackets on March 13. They have a 9-5 conference mark and quality wins over Temple, Washington, Missouri, and Kansas State. Their loss on Saturday at Baylor snapped a five-game winning streak.

The Aggies offense is paced by the frontcourt duo of Khris Middleton and David Loubeau. Middleton is averaging a team best 14.6 points per game and also 5.3 rebound per game, second best on the club. Loubeau is second on the Aggies averaging 11.2 points per contest while shooting just under 50 percent from the floor.

For the Jayhawks, they understand that the door to the regular season conference title and top seed for the conference tournament is wide open. Texas has lost three of their last four, meaning Kansas enters play on Wednesday a half game ahead. All the Jayhawks have to do is win their last two games and they win the conference outright.

Bolstering their chances is the twin brother combination of Markieff and Marcus Morris. Markieff is second in the Big 12 in field goal percentage (60.2 percent) and leads the league in rebounding (8.4RPG). Marcus leads the conference in field goal percentage (60.7 percent) and is fifth in the league in scoring, averaging 17.3 points per game.

Kansas is looking better and better for a number one seed in the NCAA Tournament because of their efficient play. While averaging 83.8 points each game as a team, fourth best in the country, they are also shooting 52.3 percent on field goals, tops in the nation. The Jayhawks also share the ball equally, averaging a nation-best 18.4 assists per game. Tyshawn Taylor (4.7 APG) ranks third in the conference in assists.
