March Madness betting players usually don’t pay much attention to the Ivy League and for good reason; Ivy League teams don’t have good results in the NCAA Tournament.

But the league has an exciting race at the top, where Harvard is trying to fend off Princeton, and the Crimson won’t have an easy time when they head to Brown on Friday night.

Harvard Brown Betting – Friday, 7:00 PM ET
Odds: Harvard -7.5

The Crimson (20-4, 9-1) have now won five in a row after a 61-42 romp at Columbia in the second of a four-game road stint, which gave them sole possession of first place in the Ivy League. Harvard essentially played the perfect game, shooting 51.3% from the field while holding Columbia to 34%, they outrebounded the Lions 35-16, and they were 18-of-18 from the foul line.

It would have been a perfect game if not for 15 turnovers, but even online horse betting players know it takes a lot to attain that status. Keith Wright led the way with 16 points and 12 boards for the Crimson, who head into the Brown trip with a full head of steam.

The Bears (10-14, 3-7) snapped a two-game skid with a 75-65 upset of Princeton at home, and they got a big game from Peter Mitchell, who notched 26 points and eight rebounds. Sean McGonagill was next with 16 points, seven boards and five assists for the Bears, who shot 48.9% from the field while holding the Tigers to 38.2%, and they were spectacular from the free-throw line, hitting 25 of their 27 attempts.

Brown is a dangerous team at Pizzitola Sports Center, and little did they know that they would be able to affect the Ivy League race with a pair of home games in February.

After watching tape of the Princeton game, we would bet 5dimes that the Crimson will be taking this game very seriously as the road favorites. Harvard is 2-3 SU and 3-2 ATS in their last five trips to Brown, who are 2-2 ATS at home, while the Crimson are 6-3 ATS on the road. The Bears had a golden opportunity at Harvard on February 12th, wasting a 22-point halftime lead to fall 85-78, and Wright put up 22 points and 14 boards against Brown.

Trends:
Under is 19-7-1 in HARV last 27 road games.
Over is 7-1 in BROWN last 8 Fri. games.
BROWN are 3-9 ATS in their last 12 home games.
Favorite is 12-5 ATS in the last 17 meetings.

We’re betting that Harvard has learned that they have to play 40 strong minutes against the Bears, who will try to ride the emotional wave of beating Princeton to another victory. We think the Crimson will eventually wear down the Bears, especially with the frontcourt of Wright and Kyle Casey, and a gutsy effort won’t be enough to earn the victory for Brown. Go with Harvard in your online sports betting picks.
