2) Double-digit favorites in the second round are 28-2 straight-up and 18-12 ATS (60.0%) in their last 30 opportunities.
3) Number two seeds are on a dreadful stretch of just 13-11 straight-up and 9-15 ATS (38%) in the second round.
4) Number three seeds have gone 9-2 straight-up and 7-4 ATS (64%) in the last three years of the tournament’s second round.
5) Number four seeds have had trouble escaping the second round in recent years, going 9-13 straight-up and 6-16 ATS (27%) since 2002.
6) Number 10 seeds own the best ATS record of any seed in the second round this decade, 9-3 ATS (75%).

It seems to me that heavy favorites in the second round are a good play as they have shaken of the dust in the first round and are ready to go on a roll against a decidely weaker team.
