George Karl might be back from cancer treatment in time for the second round, but will his Nuggets be there to greet him? The Jazz are a tough, gritty team that is not intimidated by Denver’s 34-7 home record.
This will be a down-and-dirty series and it will surprise no one if there is a Game 7.
For every point (Deron Williams) there is a counterpoint (Chauncey Billups). Kenyon Martin is just getting his legs back after returning from an injury, but he could be cancelled out if Andrei Kirilenko returns for the Jazz in a big-for-big matchup.
Carmello Anthony can break open a game, but do the Nuggets have an answer if Carlos Boozer gets it going? Denver is dominant at home, but Utah was 32-9 and that’s not shabby either. The list goes on.
Denver took 3 of 4 during the regular season, but those were meaningless games played primarily early in the year.
They haven’t faced each other since Feb. 6, and much water has spilled over the dam since then.
