MAGIC vs. CAVALIERS

Time: Thursday 8 ET
Venue: Quicken Loans Arena, Cleveland
Spread: Cavaliers -6.5
Over/Under: 193.5

In the TNT opener, the Cavs have an opportunity to show the Magic that what happened in the Eastern Conference finals last season was an aberration.

Cleveland has control of the conference and will not finish with the best record in the East only if LeBron James is hurt in the next few weeks.

Last game out Dwight Howard poured in 18 points and grabbed 14 rebounds for a double-double in the win over the Bulls.

LeBron James went for 32 points and 11 assists to lead the Cavaliers past the Nets 104-97 on Tuesday night.

Betting Trends:

Cleveland is 5-0 SU in its last 5 games at home
Cleveland is 5-0 SU in its last 5 games
The total has gone OVER in 7 of Cleveland’s last 8 games when playing Orlando
The total has gone OVER in 5 of Cleveland’s last 7 games at home
Orlando is 7-1 SU in its last 8 games
The total has gone OVER in 7 of Orlando’s last 8 games when playing Cleveland
Orlando is 7-1 ATS in its last 8 games when playing on the road against Cleveland
Orlando is 10-2 ATS in its last 12 games when playing Cleveland

THURSDAY NIGHT BEST NBA PARLAY BET:

Orlando has won 7 of 8, but that pales in comparison to the 12 in a row the Cavs have put on the board. LeBron James says Cleveland is the best team in the league right now, and who’s to argue? The Cavs are only 7-5 ATS in their run and the Magic can make things sticky, so the play appears to be the over.

Cavs have scored in triple digits 9 times in the last 12.

San Antonio (5-8 since Jan. 15 and no longer even a decent cover team) is a good fade candidate in the nightcap. So the play is the over in the opener and Nuggets -5.5 in the second game.
