IN THE SECOND GAME of the TV doubleheader tonight, it will be fun seeing what Denver brings to the table after that beatdown in Indiana two nights ago.
Playing their second straight road game and third in four nights, the Nuggets basically packed it in and Indiana made 20 consecutive shots (and 20 of 21 overall) in a 54-point third period.
Pacer fans got to whoop it up, but they really should have asked for their money back after the 144-113 victory.
Los Angeles will try to start 9-0 for the second time in history. The Lakers have matched the 1987-88 team for the second-best start in club history. The Lakers started 11-0 in 1997-98.
Thursday’s meeting also could be the last time the Lakers see Carmelo Anthony in a Nuggets uniform. Anthony has been rumored to want a trade from the Nuggets but no deals appear imminent.
