NBA Betting – Thunder vs. Rockets

Free pick and preview plus NBA betting odds and basketball lines for the matchup featuring the Oklahoma Thunder and the Houston Rockets.

Pro Basketball Betting – Inconsistent Rockets Host Reeling Thunder

The Houston Rockets (6-4 SU, 4-6 ATS, 4-6 O/U) have alternated wins and losses in each of their last six contests in the BetUS Sportsbook. The Oklahoma City Thunder (1-9 SU, 5-5 ATS, 5-5 O/U) are absolutely reeling, having lost seven straight games coming into this contest.

Both teams will be looking to pick up a big win when they battle at the Ford Center tonight.

The Rockets are coming off a convincing 91-82 home win over the New Orleans Hornets on Saturday, easily covering the spread as a 2-point home favorite for BetUS NBA sports betting buffs.

Houston got 21 points from center Yao Ming and 18 points from Tracy McGrady while holding Hornets point guard Chris Paul to just 12 points on 2-for-10 shooting.

The Thunder are coming off a 110-85 spanking at the hands of the Philadelphia 76ers on Saturday, failing to cover the spread as 10.5-point road underdogs.

Forward Jeff Green scored 21 points on 10-for-15 shooting while Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant each added 13 points.

Here is a look at the key trends for each team, followed by my in-depth analysis and NBA Free Picks:

The Rockets are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 road games vs. a team with a losing home record.
The Rockets are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 road games vs. a team with a home winning percentage of less than .400.
The Thunder are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 vs. Western Conference.
The Thunder are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 Monday games.
The Under is 5-1 in Rockets last 6 vs. a team with a losing S.U. record.
The Under is 6-0 in Thunder last 6 vs. NBA Southwest.
The Under is 5-1 in the last 6 meetings.
The Under is 5-2 in the last 7 meetings in Oklahoma City.
The Underdog is 5-2-1 ATS in the last 8 meetings.

NBA Odds

Houston Rockets -9 -110
Oklahoma City Thunder +9 -110

Over 183 -110
Under 183 -110

Analysis: While this is a contest the Rockets should win easily, I’m not sure about their ability to cover the spread as 9-point road favorites tonight. The Rockets beat the Thunder by 12 at home to start this month but failed to cover as 14-point favorites in that contest. While Oklahoma City is clearly struggling in a big way, something tells me they are going to cover the spread tonight.

Take the Thunder to narrowly cover the spread while surprising Houston with a really solid effort tonight.
