The Knicks have set a goal of 40 wins, which they think is going to get them a playoff berth. That’s going to take some doing, since the team would have to go 16-9 the rest of the way. Right now New York is 2.5 games behind the Bucks, who would be in the #8 slot in the East if the season ended today. Philadelphia is in the #6 spot, and they still would seem to have an outside shot at overtaking Miami, then Atlanta, in which case they would get to host a playoff series.

Andre Miller is not known as a prolific score, though he is averaging 16 points a game. He is shooting almost 48% from the field, and last season he was 49%. Those are two of his best percentage figures on the NBA, and maybe not coincidental that they have occurred while a member of the Sixers. Miller has been outstanding against the Knicks this season. He has made almost 63% of his shots and averaged 22.7 points a game in three meetings. He’s averaged 5.7 rebounds and seven assists. He is tough for this Knicks backcourt to guard. He provides a key difference-maker for the Sixers, who have great history against this opponent, from whom they’ve won eight of the last nine (covering seven of them).

We can see that Nate Robinson has been an explosive scorer for the Knicks, tallying 30 points or more in five of his last seven games – and four of those totals came off the bench to boot! In terms of that kind of explosiveness as a reserve, there are few players in his class; maybe Ben Gordon (when he’s not starting), Richard Hamilton and Manu Ginobili. But Robinson, at 5′ nothing has no hope of stopping Miller. Larry Hughes and Chris Wilcox, two proven veteran players who were acquired by the Knicks this past week, are being worked into the scheme of things very slowly by Mike D’Antoni, so it is questionable as to what effect they can have.

We’re going to grab the points and look for the Sixers, the 3-point dog in the BetUS NBA pro basketball online betting odds, to continue their series dominance.
