Both Sacramento and Los Angeles have lousy records, but the Clippers are finally showing signs of a turnaround. The Kings, meanwhile, are just trying to get Tyreke Evans and the offense going.

Sacramento (4-14, 5-13 ATS) is mired in a seven-game losing streak. The team lost 105-103 to Dallas on Saturday, but at least covered as 7.5-point underdogs. That snapped a five-game losing streak against the spread.

If there’s anything positive to lean on, it’s that Tyreke Evans finally showed signs of turning around his game. Evans is averaging 17.5 points and shooting 40 percent from the field, well below last year’s marks that helped him earn Rookie of the Year honors. After scoring 17 or fewer points in six consecutive games, Evans finally busted out against the Mavericks, going 11-20 for 25 points. The second-year guard added eight assists and five rebounds.

Sacramento needs more efforts like that if it’s going to be even remotely competitive. But, with Evans playing through feet and ankle pain, it’s hard to say whether he can sustain a high level of play; he’s even considering a walking boot. Online Sports Betting at Sportsbook

With Evans struggling, the Kings haven’t been able to score. Saturday’s loss marked the first time in seven games the Kings surpassed triple digits, and just the second time in their last 13. Sacramento started the season with five games of at least 100 points scored.

While the Clippers (4-17, 11-10 ATS) aren’t exactly tearing up the world, they’ve at least shown a pulse over the last few weeks. Three of their four wins have come in the past seven games, though they’ve lost two straight. Los Angeles went down 100-91 to Portland on Sunday. Though L.A. didn’t cover, it’s still a rock-solid 5-2 ATS in the last seven games.

Stellar play by Blake Griffin is certainly playing a major role in L.A.’s turnaround. Griffin is averaging 27.1 points and 13.8 rebounds over his last eight games, picking up a double-double in each.

The club is also hoping for a boost from the return of center Chris Kaman. Kaman has played in back-to-back games after missing 11 straight with an injury. He’s been brutal on defense, though, picking up nine fouls in just 26 total minutes. Kaman is a liability until he figures that out.

Sacramento is struggling. It simply can’t score with Evans hobbled, and even though he showed flashes of his old self against Dallas, it doesn’t look like he’ll be better anytime soon. The Clips, meanwhile, are playing much better than their record might indicate. Take Los Angeles to pick up another win and cover.
