There are just three games on NBA odds this Tuesday, but a pair of them should be excellent. First, the Chicago Bulls will pay a visit to the Atlanta Hawks. A few hours later, the Los Angeles Lakers will host the Phoenix Suns on the west coast.

Chicago (49-19, 43-24-1 ATS) had its eight-game winning streak snapped on Friday after losing 115-108 in overtime to the Indiana Pacers. The defeat also ended the club’s winning streak against the spread, though the Bulls are still 7-2 in their past nine games on NBA odds.

The Bulls had been riding an impressive wave of defense before stumbling in Indiana. Chicago had held each of its past 12 opponents to less than 90 points, giving up just 81.6 points per game in that span. That’s clearly elite defense and, given the talent at the offensive end of the floor, it’s no surprise the team has caught Boston for first place in the Eastern Conference.

The team has plugged away this season despite numerous injuries. The latest casualty was Carlos Boozer, who has sat out five straight games with a sprained ankle. Obviously, Chicago hasn’t missed his 18.3 points and 9.6 rebounds per game too much, as the wins keep piling up. He could return against Atlanta.

Atlanta (40-30, 31-39 ATS) beat the Pistons 104-96 on Sunday. The Hawks are 3-2 in their past five games, a big improvement after a recent four-game skid. They’ve also covered three of their last five games against the spread, including the win over Detroit. Online Sports Betting at Sportsbook

The Detroit win was preceded by a players-only meeting. Atlanta was coming off miserable back-to-back losses (102-87 to Denver, 106-85 to Miami) and obviously the players were fed up. Whether or not they can sustain anything remains to be seen. After all, the Pistons are miserable, so fans shouldn’t be planning a parade just yet.

While playing back-to-back nights might slow down Chicago a tad, it’s hard to imagine Chicago slipping up. The Bulls can taste first-place in the East and they want it bad. Boozer should be back, and their stifling “D” should shut down the Hawks, who have been held to 91 points or less in three of their last five games.

Trends:

CHI are 9-1 ATS in their last 10 Tue. games.
Under is 9-2 in CHI last 11 vs. Eastern Conference.
Under is 10-3 in CHI last 13 overall.
Under is 13-5 in ATL last 18 vs. NBA Central.
CHI are 2-7 ATS in the last 9 meetings.
Over is 6-2 in the last 8 meetings in Atlanta.
