NBA: Los Angeles Lakers vs. Dallas Mavericks

The undefeated Los Angeles Lakers, 5 and 0 on the season straight-up so far, take their high-flying game to Dallas to take on a Mavericks’ squad that looks eerily similar to the same disappointing group of NBA All-Stars that blew it in last season’s playoffs.

Sports betting fans have to be chilly on the Mavs this season as Dirk Nowitzki, Jason Kidd and Josh Howard got another year to get old. Howard is still young and Nowitzki isn’t ancient, but Kidd is getting up there. The Mavs have been a terrible online betting team this season going 2 and 4 against the spread in their 6 games so far this season.

The Los Angeles Lakers have been every bit as good as advertised. How good? Against the Houston Rockets on Sunday they spotted the Rockets 16 points and then came back to win by 29. If my math is correct, that’s a 45 point turnaround. Yeah, that’s pretty good. Against the online wagering spread the Lakers have been a fantastic 4 and 0 in the five games they have played. One game didn’t offer any online wagering odds.

BetUS hasn’t posted any online betting odds. So, I will give readers my own personal online betting odds line for this game.

Los Angeles Lakers – 6 ½ – 110 – 350 O 202 – 120
Dallas Mavericks + 6 ½ – 110 + 420 U 202 Ev

Here are a few online wagering trends that might help us find a good online bet in this game.

The Los Angeles Lakers are 4 and 1 against the spread in their last 5 games versus a team from the NBA Southwest Division.
The Los Angeles Lakers are 1-4-1 against the spread in the last 6 meetings between these two teams.
The Road Team is 4-0-1 against the spread in the last 5 meetings between these two teams.
The Dallas Mavericks are 5 and 11 against the spread in their last 16 games overall.

I will be crazy with sportsbook betting giddiness if the Los Angeles Lakers go off at – 6 ½ or less in this game.

Seriously, I know that the Lakers will stumble this season, but not against a defensively distraught team like the Dallas Mavericks. The Mavericks have no chance of keeping Kobe from putting up as many points in this game as he wants. Bynaum and Gasol on the front line will dominate.

This should be a wipe-out.
