The first game of the NBA TV Wednesday night doubleheader will feature the Portland Trail Blazers and the Boston Celtics. Portland is one of the biggest disappointments in the NBA thus far, while Boston has looked like a team on a mission to get back to the finals.

Nate McMillan’s teams typically play very good defense, but this team has been weak on the defensive end so far this season. In order to get back to the playoffs, this team must improve defensively. They are also struggling to get shots to fall, hitting only 43.9% of their field goal attempts.
The Boston Celtics narrowly missed out on another NBA title last year, and it appears they have their sights set squarely on getting another chance this season. The Celtics are 7-1 at home so far this season, with their lone loss coming against Oklahoma City. Boston has won quite a few close games by finishing the game with a strong fourth quarter this year. They have beaten the Miami Heat in both of their early season matchups.
The Celtics have the best field goal percentage in the NBA this year at 50.4%. Paul Pierce and Ray Allen have both started the year out on fire. Rajon Rondo is becoming a better point guard each year, and he is now one of the best in the league. Shaq has been quite effective when he has been able to play, which has been a nice positive for the Celtics. The Celtics have eleven players who are averaging double figures in minutes played per game. Boston is one of the deepest teams in the NBA.
