Wednesday NBA Betting – Raptors Keep It Rolling Against Portland
The Toronto Raptors are rolling right now while the Portland Trail Blazers are just trying to hang on.
Toronto has won 10 of their last 12 games while Portland is limping with just three wins in their last seven.
Portland: 33-26 SU, 32-26-1 ATS
Toronto: 31-24 SU, 28-27 ATS
Betting Odds: Raptors listed as 3-point favorites
Next up: Portland at Chicago, Friday, February 26, Toronto home to Cleveland, Friday, February 26
The Trail Blazers are struggling to cope with an injured Brandon Roy. He’s dealing with a bad hamstring that may not get better until the offseason and his production has dipped significantly. While they won on the road on Tuesday night in New Jersey, don’t expect another win on Wednesday in Toronto.
What’s Happening With The Trail Blazers
Putting the win against the lousy New Jersey Nets aside, the Trail Blazers are coming of a very disheartening loss to the Utah Jazz on Sunday. The Trail Blazers blew a 25-point lead and lost in overtime to Utah, who completed the season sweep of the Trail Blazers (4-0).
Portland has been ravaged by injuries as centers Greg Oden and Joel Przbylla are out for the year while Roy has a lingering hamstring problem now. This team hasn’t had good luck but they need to find a way to win games as they are currently in the eighth and last seeding in the Western Conference.
What’s Happening With The Raptors
The Raptors are also dealing with some injuries of late but they have plenty of depth to use. They’ve played their last two games without All-Star Chris Bosh and other players have stepped up.
On Saturday, Jarrett Jack netted 23 points while Antoine Wright chipped in 19. They had a total of six scorers in double figures.
The Raptors have won nine of their last 10 home games and have quietly established quite the home court advantage at the Air Canada Centre.
Outlook & Pick
The Raptors have been off since Saturday while the Trail Blazers will be playing their third game in four nights. The freshness factor and the home court advantage factor heavily side for the Raptors, although they will likely be without their All-Star.
Bosh missed practice on Tuesday and is a game-time decision for Wednesday. The best-guess at this point is that he won’t play.
Even so, the Raptors have too much depth and too much scoring for Portland. Look for Jarrett Jack to have a big game against his former team and Hedo Turkoglu to step up against the team that didn’t step up enough for him in the offseason. Turkoglu signed in Toronto when they offered a better deal than Portland.
