Is this the true changing of the guard in the Western Conference?

Oklahoma City will be rocking for Game Six.

San Antonio made several big runs in Game Five, but they were unable to sustain them and take control of the game. Once again the Spurs had trouble taking care of the ball. The team’s 21 turnovers really hurt them.

The Spurs once had the best defense in the NBA, but they have simply had no answer for Kevin Durant and James Harden in the fourth quarter the last few games. Manu Ginobili lit up the Thunder for 34 points in Game Five, and the team will need another huge effort from him if they are going to have a chance to win at Oklahoma City.

San Antonio will likely need to win the turnover battle and the rebounding battle to win Game Six. [soliloquy id=”82219″]

Kevin Durant scored 22 of his 27 points in the second half in Game Five. Durant made some unbelievable shots down the stretch to put his team in control.

James Harden’s three-pointer with 30 seconds left was a dagger. Russell Westbrook continues to struggle with his shot, but he racked up 12 big assists in the Game Five win.

Oklahoma City’s youth and athleticism has really been tough for San Antonio to deal with over the last three games. The Thunder have been very aggressive on defense, and they have forced the Spurs to make many mistakes.

Oklahoma City has proven they can win on the road, but they really want to finish this series at home in Game Six.

The home crowd will be a huge advantage for Oklahoma City in this one. San Antonio is a very good team, but it appears the Thunder are maturing at the perfect time. Look for Oklahoma City to close this one out in style.
