Indiana Pacers vs. Miami Heat Preview

James and Dwyane Wade combined for 70 points in Game 4 and the Heat played solid defense and even though Wade and James cannot be stopped the Pacers have to shoot the rock well or they will lose.

In Game 4 the Heat beat the Pacers 101-93.

This season the Pacers are 37-38 ATS with an O/U record of 37-36-2 and the Heat are 38-37 ATS with an O/U record of 28-45-2.

Chris Bosh will miss his 4th straight game tonight with an abdominal injury and the Pacers have to take advantage of that and hit the boards hard and not allow James to dominate the glass like he did in Game 4 when he grabbed 14 rebounds.

Roy Hibbert and David West only combined for 18 points and these 2 had foul trouble in Game 4 and they have to stay on the court in this game since the Heat do not have much of an inside defensive presence.

It is key that the Pacers rebound well, but they really cannot let the Heat grab 14 offensive boards like they did in Game 4. They also need their bigs to play good inside D and force the Heat to settle for outside shots, as in Game 4 Miami had 50 points in the paint. [soliloquy id=”82219″]

No Indy starter shot 50% from the floor in Game 4 and if Miami’s offense clicks like it did in Game 4 the Pacers will lose, and lose badly, if that happens again.

George Hill and Paul George were 6/20 from the floor in Game 4 and these 2 guards have to shoot the rock well to open up the paint for their frontcourt players.

Obviously Wade and James are the key to Miami’s offense, but Udonis Haslem had 14 points in Game 4 and the Heat need, at least, one other player to step up on offense tonight.

In some betting trends for this Eastern Conference playoff match up the Pacers are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games as a road underdog, 5-2 ATS in their last 7 road games vs. a team with a winning home record, and they have an Under record of 7-3 in their last 10 games.

The Heat are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 home games, 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games as a home favorite of 5.0-10.5 points, and they have an Under record of 24-7 in their last 31 home games.

Jason’s Pick: James will not have another monster game, but he and Wade will play well again and the Heat will play solid D, as they will win this game and cover the spread.
