Both teams are dealing with a ton of injuries right now. Jeremy Lin is out for the Knicks and Ryan Anderson is out for the Magic.

Amar’e Stoudemire is doubtful for the Knicks, while Jameer Nelson and Dwight Howard are both listed as questionable for the Magic. There is clearly no shortage of big names with injuries in this matchup.

New York has had a couple disappointing road losses in the past week. First, they lost a close against Atlanta last Friday night. On Tuesday night they blew a big lead at Indiana and lost due to a terrible fourth quarter performance. The defense had been the reason the team was hot, but now this team is struggling on the defensive end once again. [soliloquy id=”82219″]

Carmelo Anthony has picked up the scoring of late. Anthony has scored 36 and 39 points in two of the team’s last three games, but those were also the two games the Knicks lost. Tyson Chandler averages 11.2 points and 9.8 boards per game. J.R. Smith has shown flashes of brilliance off the bench, but he is shooting just 37.9%.

Orlando has been an extremely inconsistent team this season. The Magic have beaten some of the best teams in the NBA, and they have lost to several of the worst teams in the league. Orlando has one of the best big men in the league in Dwight Howard, but they also rely very heavily on their three-point shooting. The Magic shoot 38% from beyond the arc.

J.J. Redick, Jason Richardson, Ryan Anderson, Jameer Nelson, Hedo Turkoglu, and Chris Duhon are all capable of heating up from long range. Glen Davis hasn’t given the team the production they hoped for this season. Orlando has had tons of team chemistry questions this season.

With so many question marks on the injury front, this game is a major unknown.

The Knicks probably need this game more than the Magic, and I think they’ll keep it very close.

Prediction: Orlando 95 New York 93
