NBA Betting – Thunder Will Even Things Up

Team records:
Los Angeles: 57-25 SU, 34-46-2 ATS
Oklahoma City: 50-32 SU, 48-34 ATS

The Los Angeles Lakers are the reigning NBA Champions but it appears that there may be a changing of the guard. Kevin Durant and the Oklahoma City Thunder have been giving the Lakers all they can handle in round one and are on the verge of tying things up with another home win in Game 2.

While the Thunder are a No. 8 seed in the West, the reality is that they were only a few wins away from being the No. 2 seed as well.

They have played the Lakers very well to this point and they absolutely need to win Game 4 to have any shot at winning this series.

At home in front of their raucous home crowd, they should be able to do it.

The series has gone back and forth, and while Kevin Durant has yet to put forth his best game, the Thunder are still very much in it.

Oklahoma City is getting a balanced effort from Durant, Jeff Green and Russell Westbrook, but they will still need more than that.

The man who made the difference in Game 3 was rookie James Harden, who provided the Thunder with a big lift off the bench. Durant was actually in foul trouble throughout most of the contest and Harden stepped in and contributed 18 points, five rebounds, three assists and two steals.

Considering the Thunder only got eight other points from their bench, it was a big boost.

A playoff series is all about adjustments and while the Thunder won the bench battle and the battle at the free throw line, they’ll have to find a different way to win Game 4.

Durant has yet to have an efficient shooting night and that will come in Game 4. On the series, he is 27-of-74 from the field but he’s made 26-of-30 free throws. Durant should find a way to be more efficient against Ron Artest in Game 4, which will create more openings for his teammates.

Game 4 will be another close contest that will likely come down to a few plays in the fourth quarter, just as Games 2 and 3 were.

But the Thunder will find a way to get the ball out of Kobe Bryant’s hands – or force him to struggle once again – and they’ll edge out the Champs to put the pressure back on them as they head back to LA.
