The Knicks are just terrible and already well out of the playoff picture.
It’s hard to believe how bad the Knicks are with the amount of money that they spend. This team is still 2-3 years away from being relevant again and you can basically throw this season in the garbage already.
Carmelo Anthony is averaging 23.3 PPG, 6.7 RPG and 3.2 APG. He has been impressive like usual. I’ve also been impressed with Amar’e Stoudemire who comes into this game averaging 13.4 PPG and 7.5 RPG.

As a team the Knicks are only averaging 93.9 PPG (27th), 39.2 RPG (29th) and 21.0 APG (16th) while giving up 99.3 PPG (15th). The defense has actually been pretty good, but they don’t have enough playmakers.
Dallas has been a surprise this season, but they’re barely in the playoffs because of how good the West has been playing this season. The Mavericks average 110.0 PPG (1st), 41.9 RPG (17th) and 23.2 APG (8th).

One problem for Dallas has been on the defensive end, as they’re giving up 103.2 PPG (24th). If this team can improve on defense as the season progresses they’ll be scary good due to an explosive offense.
The Mavericks went out and signed the right players this off-season. Chandler Parsons is averaging 16.3 PPG, 5.0 RPG and 2.3 APG while Tyson Chandler is averaging 10.7 PPG, 11.5 RPG and 1.44 BPG.
I expect Dirk Nowitzki and Parsons to both have monster games against the Knicks. Stoudemire and Anthony don’t play defense, so both of the Mavericks scorers will be able to put up plenty of open shots.

Dallas knows how important these “easy” games are to win in the West because the competition to make the playoffs is extremely high. Dallas is 8-4 on the road and will have no problem beating the Knicks.
