NBA Picks: Kings vs. Pelicans Gambling Lines & Preview

NBA Gambling: Sacramento vs New Orleans

The Sacramento Kings 8-5 (9-3-1 ATS) play on the road against the New Orleans Pelicans 7-5 (6-6 ATS) on Tuesday night. Be sure to visit Cappers Picks daily for our free NBA picks all season.

Sacramento has been a surprise to start the year and come into this game as winners of two straight. I’m impressed with the Pelicans as well. They only have one “bad” loss and that was against Denver.

These two teams are very similar on paper. The Kings are scoring 103.4 PPG (8th) and allowing 100.8 PPG (19th) while the Pelicans are scoring an average of 103.9 PPG (6th) and allowing 100.0 PPG (18th).

The Pelicans are a better passing team, as they’re averaging 22.5 APG (9th) compared to the Kings 19.2 APG (26th). The Kings are much better at rebounding though and that’s a more important edge.

Sacramento averages 46.4 RPG (3rd) while the Pelicans average 42.5 RPG (16th). DeMarcus Cousins leads the Kings in points (23.2 PPG) and rebounds (12.3 RPG), but he has received a lot of help as well.

Rudy Gay is scoring 21.1 PPG plus Collison and McLemore are scoring in double digits also. The bench has been playing a good role too. Thompson and Evans have both been picking up a lot of rebounds early on.

The Pelicans offense and defense revolves around the massive Anthony Davis. Davis leads the Pelicans in points (26.3 PPG), rebounds (11.4 RPG) steals (2.17 SPG) and blocks (3.50 BPG) so far this season.

Omer Asik is almost averaging a double double and has been a huge addition to help Davis. They have a lot of size in their frontcourt and many capable shooters at the other positions.

Holiday, Evans, Gordon and Rivers are all capable outside shooters and have good chemistry. The team is averaging 7.2 made 3-pointers per game and shooting an average of 20.1 3-pointers per game.

These two teams played last Tuesday and the Pelicans won on the road (106-100). Davis led all scorers in the game with 28 points while Cousins had a team-high 24 points and 17 rebounds in the game.

Sacramento out scored the Pelicans 60-50 in the paint, but the Pelicans used their 3-point shooting to win this game. They hit 9 of 24 attempts from beyond the arc whereas the Kings were just 4-11 from deep.

Over 203.5 Points (-110)

The Kings are 3-1 in the last four H2H games, but the Pelicans won the last match-up, which happened to be at home as well. I could make a case for both teams covering ATS, as both are playing good basketball.

I decided to bet on the over despite this total being relatively high. The over has hit in 9 of the last 10 H2H meetings between these two teams. Neither team plays much defense and I like lots of points tonight.
