The Suns have won three in a row, including the first two of a four-game road swing in Houston and New Orleans. Amare Stoudamire is continuing to fill the net while everyone else debates where he’ll end up prior to the trade deadline. Stoudamire is a member of this year’s free-agent class, and is expected to sign elsewhere, but where else would he have a point guard like Steve Nash, and a system that allows him to do whatever he wants? We’re betting management is hopeful that he’s thinking the same.
The Nuggets have won four of their last five games without Carmelo Anthony, as the NBA scoring leader has an ankle injury. He could be back in time for this game, but it’s not too likely. 
Still, the Nuggets have stayed on track due to the steady hand of Chauncey Billups at the point, and Kenyon Martin has found something in his game with 25.5 points over his last two outings. If the Nuggets could only be more consistent on defense, it would really boost their chances to face, and even defeat, the Lakers in the playoffs.
Denver should be the online betting favorites in your sportsbook on Wednesday, as the Suns have lost five in a row in Denver, and they’ve been disappointing on the road despite winning two straight. The Nuggets feed off the crowd at the Pepsi Center, and it has resulted in Denver winning 22 of their first 25 games at home this season. Denver won their December 12th home meeting with the Suns by a score of 105-99, one of the few times this year that Phoenix has been held under 100 points. The Nuggets’ trio of big guys, Martin, Nene and Chris Andersen, will team up to keep Stoudamire quiet (he had 13 points in the last meeting), and the Nuggets have shown that they’re a better bet to make a key defensive stop when they need to than the Suns, especially at home.
