The Philadelphia 76ers will try to extend the series for the second time in-a-row when they face the Miami Heat on Wednesday night in Game 5 of this best-of-seven first round matchup in the Eastern Conference playoffs. Tip-off from the American Airlines Arena is set for 7 p.m. (ET) and the game will be broadcast nationally on TNT.

Philadelphia was finally able to play a full 48 minutes against Miami in this series which resulted in an 86-82 win as a 5 ½-point home underdog in Sunday’s Game 4. Given the fact they have not won a game straight-up on the road against the Heat in their last six attempts, the 76er’s will need and even more monumental effort in this game to keep the series alive.

The bench came up big in Sunday’s win with rookie Evan Turner and Lou Williams each scoring 17 points. Williams went on to hit a huge three-point shot with eight seconds left to secure the win. Jrue Holiday, who leads the team in scoring with 15.3 points a game and Elton Brand, who has 14 points and nine rebounds a game, have accounted for a large chunk of Philly’s production over the past four games.

Miami was outscored 10-0 in the last minute and a half of Game 4 after building a six-point lead. It once again showed the inability of this team to hit the big shots when it needed to the most. This time it cost the Heat a chance to close out a series and while it is highly doubtful this one will reach seven games, it could be an omen for a future Game 7 down the road.

The Big Three continue to carry this team with close to 70 percent of the points and 60 percent of the rebounds. LeBron James is averaging a team-high 26.3 points and 10.3 rebounds. Dwyane Wade is second in scoring with 21.3 points and Chris Bosh rounds out things out with 19.3 points and 8.5 rebounds a game.

Head-to-head, the Heat are 9-1 SU in the last 10 games, but just 5-5 against the spread. The total has stayed ‘under’ in five of the last seven meetings. Stick with Miami to get the outright victory on Wednesday to clinch the series, but take Philly and the 10 ½ points as there is just no quit in coach Doug Collins’ bunch.

NBA Gambling Trends:
Under is 9-1 in PHI last 10 overall.
Under is 9-1 in PHI last 10 vs. Eastern Conference.
PHI are 2-8 ATS in their last 10 games overall.
MIA are 6-2 ATS in their last 8 vs. NBA Atlantic.
Home team is 19-9 ATS in the last 28 meetings.

The Pick: Philadelphia +10.5
