NBA Betting – Indiana vs. Dallas

Free pick and preview plus NBA betting odds and basketball lines for the matchup featuring the Indiana Pacers and the Dallas Mavs …

Streaking Mavericks Host Inconsistent Pacers

The Indiana Pacers (5-7 SU, 6-5-1 ATS, 5-6-1 O/U) have been an inconsistent, perplexing bunch at the start of the 2008-09 regular season. The Dallas Mavericks (6-7 SU, 6-7 ATS, 6-7 O/U) are starting to find their identity under new head coach Rick Carlisle.

Tonight, both clubs will be looking to pick up a win for fans and BetUS NBA sports betting backers when they meet at American Airlines Center.

The Pacers have dropped two straight games in the BetUS Sportsbook, including a 109-100 loss to the Miami Heat on Saturday.

Marquis Daniels scored 25 points to lead Indiana and Danny Granger added 23 but Miami controlled the second half of the contest, outscoring the Pacers by 21 points after halftime.

“That’s the NBA for you,” point guard T.J. Ford said. “You’re up one minute and have momentum, and it shifts in a heartbeat.”

“I couldn’t tell you what it is,” Granger said. “I don’t know if we should let the other teams start winning first, so we can come back in the end.”

Carlisle, a former head coach for the Pacers, faces his former team for the first time Tuesday when he and the Mavericks look to win their fifth consecutive game after beating Memphis 91-76 on Friday.

The Mavericks will also look to pick up their second straight win at home after getting off to a surprising 0-4 start this season.

“This has been such a strong home court for so many years, so to start out with losses was difficult, but the team has responded in the last four games and we just have to build momentum,” Carlisle said.

Dirk Nowitzki scored 25 points and grabbed 10 rebounds on Friday, while Jason Terry added 20 points and Jason Kidd, chipped in18 points, 13 rebounds and six assists.

“That’s why you have star players, to play like stars,” Carlisle said.

NBA Odds

Indiana Pacers +8 -110
Dallas Mavericks -8 -110

Over 199 -110
Under 199 -110

Analysis: While the Mavericks are going to win this home game tonight, this is a tough ATS call, depending on which Pacers team shows up tonight NBA bettors. I say, take the Over 199 Total points first before taking the Pacers to cover the spread barely.
