NBA Betting – Nuggets vs. Bobcats

Free pick and preview plus NBA betting odds and basketball lines for the matchup featuring the Denver Nuggets and the Charlotte Bobcats…

NBA Betting – Rebuilding Bobcats Host Billups and New-Look Nuggets

The new-look Denver Nuggets (3-3 SU, 4-1 ATS, 3-2 O/U) have gotten some immediate returns from their recent trade with the Detroit Pistons. After acquiring veteran point guard and big-time, late-game, shot-maker Chauncey Billups, from the Pistons, for me-first, high-scoring gunner Allen Iverson, the Nuggets have won each of their last two games in the BetUS Sportsbook.

The Nuggets hit the road in this contest as they visit the rebuilding Charlotte Bobcats (2-4 SU, 3-3 ATS, 1-5 O/U) looking to win their third consecutive game for BetUS sports betting buffs and Nuggets fans everywhere with Billups guiding the team with his veteran leadership.

After beating the Dallas Mavericks 108-105 on Friday in Billups’ first game with the franchise this season, the Nuggets kept the improved Memphis Grizzlies in check on Sunday, handing their Western Conference counterparts a convincing 100-90 defeat at home.

“This is like night and day from what I’m used to, and that’s not a bad thing,” said Billups, who scored 16 points and dished out 10 assists in the victory. “With the way our schedule is stacked, we don’t have a lot of practice time. Our practice is in the game. That can be difficult sometimes and can lead to some bad turnovers.”

Nuggets’ all-star forward Carmelo Anthony has benefited from the addition of Billups, scoring 28 and 24 points in the two contests he has played with former NBA Finals MVP.

Underrated center Nene Hilario has also seen his production increase recently and is averaging 18.7 points and 11.3 rebounds per game while draining a jaw-dropping shooting 73.3 percent of his field goal attempts over the span of his last three contests.

“When you’ve got that many weapons I think it’s tough to load up on everybody,” said Billups. “In the past, you could just load up on Melo and hope that he doesn’t get more than 30. If you’ve got a lot of guys rolling, it makes you better.”

The Bobcats have dropped three of their last four contests including an 89-79 home loss to the Toronto Raptors on Sunday. Rookie point guard D.J. Augustin lead the young team in scoring with 14 points on 5-for-11 shooting from the field but team’s scoring leader, Jason Richardson, scored just 12 points on 5-for-5 shooting from the field. Versatile forward Gerald Wallace, the subject of a flurry of recent trade rumors, scored just six points while shooting a dismal 2-for-11 from the field.

“If (defenses) do a good job on (Richardson) and Wallace, it’s pretty tough for us,” Bobcats head coach Larry Brown said.

Here is a look at the key betting trends for each team, followed by my in-depth analysis and NBA Free Picks:
