Sacramento Kings vs. L.A. Lakers Preview

On the season the Kings are 12-9 ATS and they have an O/U record of 11-10 and the Lakers are 9-11-1 ATS and they have an O/U record of 11-10.

This season the Lakers are 2-9 at home and the Kings are 5-5 on the road.

In their last games the Kings beat the Utah Jazz 101092 and the Lakers lost to the New Orleans Hornets 104-87.

It is pretty simple for the Lakers, as if they cannot light up the scoreboard they will not win. They have lost 3 straight where they failed to score 100 points and in each game they gave up at least 104 points. They rank a decent 12th in the league in scoring, but rank 30th in opponents’ points per game.

The Lakers have won 11 of their last 12 home games facing the Kings.

The Kings won their last game even without their leading and scorer and rebounder DeMarcus Cousins, who is also out for this game.

Rudy Gay scored 29 points in the win over the Jazz and with Cousins out he, Darren Collison, and Ben McLemore, who are the only other Sacto players averaging in double figures, have to shoulder more of the offensive load. In his last 3 games facing the Lakers Collison has averaged 19.3 ppg.

The Kings also have defensive issues of their own only ranking 22nd in the league in opponents’ points allowed.

They struggled, big time, on D in their first few games without Cousins in the lineup, but in the Jazz gave they held them to a FG% of only 40.5%.

Lakers head coach Byron Scott shook up the starting lineup in the last game, but it did not help. Kobe Bryant did not have a great game and he is shooting a career worst FG%. He still leads the league in scoring, but has averaged fewer than 20 ppg this month.

Nick Young has been struggling with his shot and he Carlos Boozer, who may come off the bench again, and Jordan Hill have to help out the Black Mamba on offense.

Hill and Boozer also have to hit the boards hard, especially on the offensive end, with Cousins on the bench.

4* Cappers NBA Free Pick

I picked the Lakers in the New Orleans game and bow was I wrong about that one. However, I think they will bounce back tonight and beat the Kings, who are without their best player.
