Oklahoma City Thunder vs. Atlanta Hawks Preview

On the season the Thunder are 20-20-2 ATS and they have an O/U record of 17-25 and the Hawks are 32-11 ATS and they have an O/U record of 22-21.

This season the Hawks are 18-3 at home and the Thunder are 10-13 on the road.

In their last games the Hawks beat the Indiana Pacers 110-91 and the Thunder beat the Washington Wizards 105-103 in OT.

To say the Hawks are hot would be a major understatement, as they have won 14 straight and they can break a franchise record for straight wins tonight by beating the Thunder. After struggling to begin the season without Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook the Thunder are now back on track and they have won 4 straight and 7 of their last 10 games.

The Hawks have not only won 13 of their last 14 home games, but they have been solid against good teams going 14-5 this season facing teams that have winning records.

Atlanta is 10-2 this season facing teams from the Western Conference.

One of the major reasons the Hawks are winning is their defense, which ranks #1 in the league in opponents’ points allowed. While the Thunder rank 17th in scoring they have been much better on offense with Durant and Westbrook back on the court. The Atlanta D will have a tough time containing these 2, who combined for 66 points in the OT win over the Wizards.

Durant has averaged over 37 ppg in his last 3 games facing the Hawks

The Hawks do not have one true star, but they have a great balance with their 3 players averaging over 15 ppg in PG Jeff Teague, PF Paul Milsap, and C Al Horford. Teague leads the Hawks in scoring and he should be getting his first All Star nod this season.

The Thunder have won 4 straight over the Hawks.

The Hawks are hot, but I still think full-strength the Thunder are the better team and while they may not win on the road tonight OKC will cover the spread.
