Give the Houston Rockets some credit. Not that long ago management was building the team around Yao Ming and Tracy McGrady, and now both are long gone but the Rockets still stand at .500 and with a puncher’s chance of getting to the playoffs. The Rockets are 32-32 and probably will be on the outside looking in when playoffs start next month, but they have won 6 of their last 7.

If they can take care of business in Sacramento tonight and overachieve in Phoenix on Tuesday, they then head home for 6 games. You never know.

Those are the facts. Online Sports Betting at Sportsbook

How they’re winning is anyone’s guess. Rick Adelman may be the coach of the decade if he can bring this group in at .500 this season. Kevin Martin (20 a game against good teams, capable of 30 against tomato cans) is solid on the offensive end and Luis Scola can play a bit, but Kyle Lowry and Courtney Lee force no one to game plan for them.

But as bad as things might be, they are better than the Kings, who will be fortunate to win 20 games this season and who likely will start the 2011-12 campaign down the road in Anaheim. Stadium issues will force the move, and it’s a shame because the fans have supported the team through some bad times.

Things just haven’t been the same in Sacramento since the refs screwed the Kings in Game 6 of the 2002 Western Conference finals.

 NBA Trends:

HOU are 8-1 ATS in their last 9 vs. NBA Pacific.
HOU are 6-2 ATS in their last 8 road games.
Over is 13-3 in SAC last 16 overall.
Over is 10-3 in the last 13 meetings in Sacramento.
Underdog is 10-3 ATS in the last 13 meetings.

Best bets: Houston plays hard, both at home and on the road; Sacramento will play hard as long as it’s a game, then pack it in. Houston minus 4 is a solid play, with an accompanying look at the under at 216.5.
