The Miami Heat will look to make short work of the Philadelphia 76ers on Sunday with a four-game sweep in this first round, best-of-seven Eastern Conference playoff matchup. Tip-off is set for 1 p.m. and the game will be broadcast nationally on ABC.

Miami has pretty much had its way in this series with a 97-89 win as a 10 ½-point home favorite in Game 1, a 94-73 rout this past Monday as a nine-point home favorite, and a 100-94 victory on Thursday night as a 4 ½-point road favorite. The total went ‘over’ the 184 ½-point line in Game 3 after staying ‘under’ in the first two.

The Big Three have lived up to their reputation in this series so far. LeBron James is averaging 24.7 points and 12 rebounds, Chris Bosh is averaging 21.7 points and 9.7 rebounds, and Dwyane Wade is averaging 21 points and 7.7 rebounds. They have accounted for 70 percent of the Heats’ points and 60 percent of their rebounds.

Philadelphia has been able to keep two of the games close until late in the fourth, but has struggled to generate points when it has needed them the most. No one will question the heart and drive of Doug Collins’ team, but the simple truth is the 76ers cannot match the talent level of their opponent for a full four quarters.

Jrue Holiday and Thaddeus Young paint a bright future for the Sixers as they are the primary reason that all three games were not blowouts. Holiday leads the team in scoring with 17 points a game and Young has come off the bench to add 14 points and 6.7 rebounds a game. The main problem has been under the boards, were Philly has been outrebounded 149-113 in the first three games.

Head-to-head, Miami has won the last 10 games straight-up, and is 6-4 against the spread. The total has stayed ‘under’ in four of the last six meetings. Game 4 should be a carbon-copy of Thursday’s, with the Heat pulling away at the end to wrap-up this series in four games.

NBA Gambling Trends:
Under is 8-0 in PHI last 8 vs. Eastern Conference.
Under is 10-1 in PHI last 11 overall.
PHI are 1-7 ATS in their last 8 games overall.
Home team is 18-8 ATS in the last 26 meetings.

The Pick – Miami 97-89
