The Magic (41-24) are currently in fourth in the East and are chasing Miami for the Southeast Division lead, but has lost three of  their last four after beating the Heat last Thursday.

They will play game two of their five game road trip when they travel to the Valley of the Sun to take on a struggling Phoenix (33-30) team that is still fighting to find a way into the postseason, currently sitting in ninth place in the Western Conference.

Orlando followed up their win in the Sunshine State by losing back-to-back home games for the first time since December, averaging 83.0 points, and 17.5 turnovers against Chicago and Portland.

Offensively they played well on Friday night, scoring 120 points but allowed the hapless Warriors to set a franchise record for 3-pointers made, falling in OT 123-120. Golden State outpaced the Magic with a furious second-half push and finished 21-for-35 from beyond the arc.

Jason Richardson scored 30 points, but he missed a three-pointer that could have tied the game just before it ended. Jameer Nelson chipped in with 24 points. Orlando was 15-for-32 from long range, making the 36 combined 3-pointers — the most in league history. The previous record was 32, set by Seattle at Phoenix on Jan. 22, 2006.

In his second game back after serving an automatic one-game suspension for picking up his 16th technical foul, Dwight Howard recorded 13 points and 21 rebounds, extending his double-double streak to 23 games – one shy of a career high.

As for the Suns, they have alternated wins and losses in their  last five games after outlasting Houston Tuesday as a four-point home favorite, 113-110. Then went on, being thumped by the Nuggets 116-97 just 48 hours later in their second-worst home loss of the season. Phoenix never led in the game, as Marcin Gortat had 14 points and tied a career high with 18 rebounds for the Suns.

Steve Nash, bothered by an irritated bone in the groin area, played only 10 minutes in the second half.

Phoenix committed 14 turnovers in the first half that the Nuggets conveniently turned into 24 points.  They didn’t shoot well either making just five of 22 3-pointers (41 percent total shooting, 37-for-90), while blowing a chance to pull within a half-game of idle Memphis.

Recent Trends:
Under is 9-3 in MIL last 12 Sun. games.
Under is 20-7 in MIL last 27 overall.
Over is 12-5 in BOS last 17 home games.
Underdog is 7-1-1 ATS in the last 9 meetings.
MIL are 19-7-1 ATS in the last 27 meetings.

Matt’s Free Prediction: Magic –The Magic handled the Suns easily in Orlando back in November 105-89. Howard had 20 points and 12 rebounds in that game while Nelson had 15 points and a season-high 12 assists.

The Suns had no flow offensively without Nash in that bout and look to suffer their second loss to the Magic with the likelihood of their veteran point guard spending most of his time on the bench come Sunday.
