Oklahoma City Thunder vs. L.A. Lakers Preview

On the season the Thunder are 14-11-1 ATS and they have an O/U record of 7-19 and the Lakers are 11-13-1 ATS and they have an Under record of 13-12.

This season the Lakers are 3-9 at home and the Thunder are 5-9 on the road.

In their last games the Thunder lost to the Golden State Warriors 114-109 and the Lakers lost to the Indiana Pacers 110-91.

The Thunder had their 7-game winning streak with a loss to the Warriors, but while they got the L at least Kevin Durant’s injury was not a serious one. He left the game with an ankle injury, but X-rays were negative.

He is a question mark for this game where the Thunder are a 7.5-point road betting favorite.

Durant missed the first 17 games of the season and since he has come back OKC has averaged over 106 ppg.

Russell Westbrook also missed the first few weeks of the season, but has averaged 33 ppg since coming back. If Durant cannot go he will have to shoulder more of the offensive load.

The Lakers have the league’s worst ranked defense and they will face a Thunder team that has won 13 of their last 17 games facing them averaging 108.6 ppg in that span.

The Lakers had their 3-game winning streak snapped with the loss to the Pacers, which was a bad one. Kobe Bryant is scoring, but his FG% is the worst of his career. In the loss to Indiana he was 8/26 from the floor.

While the Lakers are the worst defensive team in the league the Thunder are the best in terms of opponents’ points allowed.

However, in their loss to the Warriors they allowed Golden State to shoot over 51% from the floor.

One bright spot for the Lakers in the Pacers loss was that Nick Young was 50% from the floor after struggling, big time, in the previous game.

Since being taken out of the starting lineup Carlos Boozer has played well and he needs to have a good game inside tonight both scoring and on the boards.

The Lakers won the most recent meeting with the Thunder and that was with Kobe on the sidelines with an injury.

NBA Betting Trends

* Oklahoma City is 4-12-1 ATS in their last 17 road games.
* Oklahoma City is 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games vs. a team with a losing S.U. record.
* L.A. is 2-6 ATS in their last 8 home games.
* L.A. is 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games overall.
* The home team is 6-0 ATS in the last 6 games between these 2 teams.

4*Cappers NBA Free Pick

Not sure if Durant will go tonight, but I think he will not with the Thunder being careful with him. Still, the Lakers only have 3 road wins all season and OKC is playing well as of late and they will win and cover tonight.
