Minnesota Timberwolves vs. L.A. Lakers Preview

On the season the Timberwolves are 5-8 ATS and they have an O/U record of 9-4 and the Lakers are 7-7-1 ATS and they have an Under record of 9-6.

This season the Lakers are 1-7 at home and the Timberwolves are 1-5 on the road.

In their last games the Lakers lost to the Memphis Grizzlies 99-93 and the Timberwolves lost tor the Milwaukee Bucks 103-86.

Tonight in La La Land 2 of the worst teams in the Western Conference face off and the T-Wolves and Lakers have each lost 3 in a row.

Something has got to give tonight, as the Lakers have lost 4 straight and home and the T-Wolves have lost 4 straight road games.

Each team has been decent on offense this season, but the same cannot be said on defense, as Minnesota ranks 29th in the league in opponents’ points per game and the Lakers rank 30th.

Kobe Bryant, obviously, leads the Lakers in scoring, but he is shooting a career worst FG% (37.9%). Many though L.A. would be much better when Nick young came back from his injury and while he is averaging over 11 ppg he is only 8/33 from the floor in his last 3 games.

Minnesota has been ravaged by injuries as of late with Ricky Rubio, Mo Williams, Kevin Martin, and Nikola Pekovic all out. The loss of Martin is a big one, as he is the team’s leading scorer. First overall pick Andrew Wiggins has not been shooting the ball well, but is averaging 19 ppg in his last 3 games.

The T-Wolves are thin inside and it is key that the big men of the Lakers in Jordan Hill and Caros Boozer take advantage of that. Bryant and Jeremy Lin have to feed these guys in the paint to get easy buckets.

The T-Wolves won 3 of 4 games from the Lakers last season, but that was without the injured Bryant. The Black Mamba has won his last 21 games facing Minnesota.
