Memphis Grizzlies vs. Chicago Bulls Preview

On the season the Grizzlies are 29-31-2 ATS and they have an O/U record of 26-34-2 and the Bulls are 29-35 ATS and they have an O/U record of 30-33-1.

This season the Bulls are 20-13 at home and the Grizzlies are 20-11 on the road.

In their last games the Bulls lost to the San Antonio Spurs 116-105 and the Grizzlies lost to the New Orleans Hornets 95-89.

The Bulls are really depleted, as Derrick Rose may be out for the season and All Star Jimmy Butler and Taj Gibson are both out with injuries. The loss of Butler is a big one, as he went for 31 points in the Bulls earlier upset win over the Grizzlies in Memphis this season.

Both of these teams are 5-5 in their last 10 games and the Grizzlies are coming off a loss and the Bulls have lost 2 in a row.

The Bulls rank 12th in the league in scoring as well as opponents’ points allowed and their D will be key tonight. The Grizzlies are not a high scoring team, ranking 17th in ppg, but the Bulls only have 2 starters tonight that are averaging in double gigures.

The Grizzlies lead the NBA in opponents’ points allowed.

Pau Gasol is having a great first season with the Bulls averaging 18.2 ppg and 12.2 ppg. He struggled going for only 6 points in the match up with the Grizzlies this season even though Chicago still won.

Pau Gasol and Joakim Noah will need to play solid interior defnese tonight facing the duo of Zach Randolph and Marc Gasol. These guys only combined for 17 points on poor shooting in the Grizzlies last game facing the Pelicans.

Mike Conley (16.4 ppg) scored 21 points in the loss to the Pelicans, but in his last 6 games in Chicago he has struggled with his shot and has only averaged 9.5 ppg.

While both of these teams will still make the playoffs neither is playing well as of late. The Grizzlies are coming off a loss and are 5-5 in their last 10 games and the Bulls have dropped 2 straight and are also 5-5 in their last 10 games. One of the main reasons for the Bulls slide is they are really banged up. Derrick Rose looks like he will be out for the season, All Star Jimmy Butler and Taj Gibson (10.6 ppg) are also out with injuries.

With the slew of injuries the Bulls have Gasol, Brooks, and Nikola Mirotic have to take up the slack in the scoring department.

Mirotic went for 27 in the earlier win at Memphis on the season and in his last 5 games he has averaged 21.4 ppg.

4* Cappers NBA Free Pick

I have to go with the Grizzlies tonight facing the banged up Bulls, as they will win and cover the spread in the Windy City avenging an earlier season loss.
