Cleveland Cavaliers vs. Oklahoma City Thunder Preview

On the season the Cavs are 9-11 ATS and they have an O/U record of 8-11-1 and the Thunder are 10-10-1 ATS and they have an O/U record of 6-16.

This season the Thunder are 5-5 at home and the Cavs are 6-3 on the road.

In their last games the Thunder beat the Milwaukee Bucks 114-101 and the Cavs beat the Toronto Raptors 105-101.

The Thunder are finally at full strength with Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook back on the floor and they have won 3 straight. They have some work to do to get over .500 and they are a 2.5-point home favorite facing the red-hot Cavs.

Cleveland has won 8 straight, which is their longest win streak since LeBron James was first with the team.

Before Durant and Westbrook came back the Thunder had the worst record in the Western Conference, but not anymore winning 5 of their last 6 games. However, the Thunder have yet to beat a team this season that currently has a winning record.

OKC is in 3rd place in the Northwest Division trailing the Portland Trailblazers by 8.5 games.

In their winning streak the Cavs have twice beaten the Toronto Raptors, who have the best record in the Eastern Conference.

Westbrook is averaging 26 ppg and Durant is coming off his best game of the season.

LeBron James has had a lot of success facing the Thunder averaging 33 ppg and beating them in the finals a couple of seasons back. Also, even without King James the Cavs have won their last 2 games at Oklahoma City.

The Thunder are starting to score more with their 2 stars back, but their D has been solid all season ranking 4th in the league in opponents’ points allowed.

The Cavs are a balanced team that ranks 9th in the league in both points per game and opponents’ points per game. The Thunder now have to deal with a different Big 3 in James, Kevin Love, and Kyrie Irving.

In the last 2 match ups between these 2 teams Irving has outscored Westbrook.

The Thunder are on their way back, but not all the way and I think the Cavs will not only cover the spread, but win.
