Cleveland Cavaliers vs. Atlanta Hawks Preview

On the season the Cavs are 45-48 ATS and they have an O/U record of 37-55-1 and the Hawks are 55-38-2 ATS and they have an O/U record of 47-48.

This season the Hawks are 40-8 at home and the Cavs are 27-20 on the road.

In Game 1 of this series on Wednesday the Cavaliers beat the Hawks 97-89.

The Cavs won Game 1 in Atlanta and now have home court advantage in this series, but they are a little banged up.

[dfads params=’groups=63727&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]

LeBron James hurt his ankle in Game 1 and Kyrie Irving hurt his knee and was limited to playing 3 minutes in the 4th quarter. James will be ok, but Irving’s injury is a concern.

The Hawks looked out of sync on offense in Game 1 and while Kyle Korver was 2/4 from deep Atlanta only hit on 4 of their 23 3-pointers and they have to shoot the rock better tonight.

J.R. Smith was HUGE in Game 1 coming off the bench to score 28 points for the Cavs. He and the supporting cast will have to play well tonight and this is especially the case if Irving is limited.

Paull Millsap was only 3/11 from the floor in Game 1 and while Jeff Teague scored a team high 27 points he was 1/6 from beyond the 3-pt arc and 11/24 from the floor overall.

DeMarre Carroll got a serious scare with a knee injury in Game 1 and while there is no big damage he is very doubtful for this game. His defense on King James will sorely be missed.

The Cavs had 12 offensive boards in Game 1 and the Hawks, especially Millsap and Al Horford have to keep Cleveland from getting 2nd chance points. Overall, in the game the Hawks were outrebounded by 12 boards.

In Game 1 the Hawks shot a better overall FG% and free throw %, but their failure to hit the long ball killed them.

The Hawks need to get back on track shooting the 3 and hitting the boards and they do not do that there is a big chance they will head to Cleveland in a 2-0 hole in this series.
