NBA Betting – Knicks vs. Wizards (Jan. 16)

Free pick and preview plus NBA betting odds and basketball lines for the matchup featuring the Knicks and the Wizards from Washington…

NBA Picks – High Octane Knicks at Washington

The New York Knicks (15-22, 20-17 ATS, 15-22 O/U) have won two straight games in the BetUS Sportsbook, covering the spread for BetUS NBA sports betting backers on each occasion. The Washington Wizards (7-31, 15-23 ATS, 15-21-2 O/U) have dropped six consecutive games, failing to cover the spread in the BetUS Sportsbook in every single outing.

Tonight, the high-scoring Knicks will look to continue their winning ways at Washington’s expense when they battle at the Verizon Center.

The Knicks beat Washington 1281-22 on Wednesday and will look to complete their home-and-home series with a sweep in tonight’s matchup.

New York moved to 3-0 against the Wizards this season as forward David Lee scored 30 points and grabbed 10 rebounds while backup forward Al Harrington added 27 points off the bench. Lee is averaging career highs of 15.4 points and 11.1 rebounds this season.

“It’s not about my offense. It’s not about how I’m playing,” said Lee, whose 26 double-doubles this season have him tied for second in the NBA. “It’s the fact that we were able to get another win today at home and we’ve got another chance at Washington in a couple of days here and that’s another victory we have to get.”

Quentin Richardson added 26 points for the Knicks who drained a blistering 53.8 percent of their field goal attempts.

“Their ability to move the ball off the dribble and their quick passing gives us trouble,” Wizards coach Ed Tapscott said. “If we go big, we can’t guard them off the dribble, and if we go small, we can’t get rebounds. So I guess I’m going to have to find something in between that will allow us a semblance of both.”

Second-year swingman Nick Young set a new career high for the third time in four games, scoring 33 points on 13-of-17 shooting from the field after recently dropping 28 and 30 points respectively on some unsuspecting opponents.

All-star forward Caron Butler added 25 points and veteran point guard Mike James added 20 for the Wizards.

“It was almost like pickup basketball,” James said. “We were talking at halftime. Some people said they’ve seen more defense on video games. You joke about that, but it’s not a laughing matter.”

NBA Odds

New York Knicks +3 -110
Washington Wizards -3 -110

Over 207 -110
Under 207 -110

Analysis: While the Knicks are mediocre at best against good teams – and the Wizards are playing at home tonight – I like the high-scoring Knicks to win this game and cover the spread with their all-out offensive attack.

Washington has had big trouble scoring the ball all season long and likely won’t be able to keep pace with the up-tempo Knicks.
