Indiana

Down the stretch they were not well organized and it looks like they are playing so tight that they can barely breathe.

They are looking to escape instead of playing to win and it is not working. The way they look right now it is hard to believe they hhad the best record in the East.

Down the stretch of the game it was just too much one on one by Lance Stephenson and Paul George.

Their inability to convert with any efficiency, against a team like Atlanta emphasized that the Pacers are lacking that true star player that can get buckets when they are most needed.

George is believed to be that kind of player but based on what we are seeing I don’t think so.

It just goes to show you how much a market betting is that oddsmakers continue to make the Pacers favourites despite all evidence to the contrary. They know that so many are going to be tempted by that small number, myself included I must admit.

Can they possibly be as bad as they have been when at times they look so good?

Atlanta

I have to admit I have not had a lot of respect for Atlanta throughout the season but I have to give them some kudos for getting the win in game three. After the G2 loss I was sure they would fall apart, making it easy for Indiana to move to the next round.

Now it is clear that we have ourselves a series.

I am having a hard time believing it but the Hawks may sneak into the second round after all.

He was not as good as he was in G1 but Jeff Teague is showing me something in this series – he has a grittiness to his game I never noticed before. He and Kyle Korver both reached the 20 point mark in G3 and anytime that happens the Hawks are going to be in it.

The Hawks won despite committing more turnovers and getting outrebounded by 10. Other than Paul Milsap no one is hitting the glass.

Even though I am not loving the Pacers right now I still can’t get behind the Hawks.

They may be up 2-1 but I stilll find it hard to figure out how they are going to win.

They were kind of lucky when you look at the numbers from the last one and even though they are at home I don’t want to rely on that luck.
