NBA Wednesday Parlay – Jan 15

The NBA regular season continues to grind its way through the month of January with a full 12 games on this Wednesday’s schedule. [ad-4468020]

After digging deep into the stats and betting trends for all the matchups I have come up with pair of solid picks that are a ‘must play’ for this week’s ‘NBA Wednesday Parlay’.

The following is a brief look at both games based on lines by [dfads params=’groups=63740&limit=1&return_javascript=0′].

Game 1- Houston Rockets vs. New Orleans Pelicans

Pointspread: Houston -6
Total Line: 205.5

ATS Matchup Stats | NFL Gambling Insight!

The Rockets have gone 7-3 straight-up in their last 10 games to move to within 5.5 games of San Antonio for the top spot in the Southwest Division. They are 25-14 SU overall with a 20-17-2 record against the spread after covering in three of their last four games.

Houston is ranked third in the NBA in scoring with 105.3 points a game with James Harden (24.6 points) and Dwight Howard (18.3 points) leading the way. Harden also leads the team in assists (5.2) and Howard is averaging 12.7 rebounds as part of a team average of 45.3 which is ranked seventh in the league.

New Orleans’ current losing streak reached six games with a 101-95 loss to San Antonio this past Monday, but it did cover as a seven-point home underdog. The Pelicans are now 15-22 SU on the year and 15-20-2 ATS. This was just the third time they covered a spread in their last 10 games.

Injuries have not helped their cause with both Ryan Anderson and Jrue Holiday out for an extended period of time. This team does not have the talent or depth to absorb losses like that and it has shown in its play on the court. Look for the Rockets to take full advantage of the situation with a road win that easily covers the spread.

Game 2- Denver Nuggets vs. Golden State Warriors

Pointspread: Golden State -7.5
Total Line: 209.5

ATS Matchup Stats | NFL Gambling Insight!

Denver’s five-game winning streak came to an end this past Monday night in a 118-103 loss to lowly Utah as a six-point favorite on the road. The loss dropped the Nuggets to 19-18 SU on the year with a 16-20-1 record ATS. They are 9-8-1 ATS on the road this season and the total has gone OVER in their last three road games.

Denver comes into this matchup averaging 102.6 points a game and it has exceeded that total in five of its last six games. The problem all season long has been a defensive effort that is allowing an average of 101.6 points on the other end of the court.

The Warriors have been one of the hottest teams in the league as of late with a 9-1 SU record in their last 10 games. They have moved into sixth place in the West with an overall record of 25-14 SU. Golden State is 18-19-2 ATS with a 5-5 record ATS during this 10-game run.

This is another team that can light up the scoreboard with an average of 103.3 points a game. The Warriors have also been solid on defense, but look for Wednesday night’s contest to turn into shootout that goes OVER the total line to secure the back-end of this parlay.
