Miami: 47-35 SU – (43-37-2 ATS)

Ok, so no Kevin Garnett for Game 2. End of the world for the Celtics, right?

Uh, not so fast. If you want to be brutally honest about it, the Celtics have been playing without the real Garnett since the day he hit the floor and landed awkwardly on his right knee in Utah a year ago February.

Matchup: HEAT vs. CELTICS

Time: 8:00 p.m. ET
Venue: TD Garden, Boston
Spread: Celtics -1.5
Over/Under: 179

Garnett was injured again in the middle of this season and has not had more than a handful of games at full efficiency.

The problem for the Celtics is not the mere absence of Garnett, but the lack of talent they have to replace him. Rasheed Wallace, who has stolen paychecks all season, will probably get the start, miss a few 3-pointers, pick up some quick fouls, get hit with a T and head for the bench yapping at anyone and everyone.

Out-of-shape Glen Davis will then huff and puff his way through some ineffective minutes. After that, who knows?

Despite it all, Boston is still a slight favorite to win and go up 2-0 in this series. Miami feels that its own athleticism will take over in this series, but when it counted in Game 1 the Heat shooters felt their scrotums tightening. Online Sports Betting at Sportsbook

Dwyane Wade had 26, but Jermaine O’Neal, Carlos Arroyo and Michael Beasley finished with a combined total of 20, and that won’t get the job done.

The players and fans realize that this is a game that Miami has to have. Garnett will return for Game 3 rested and breathing more fire than ever. Boston is a good road team and has shown it can beat the Heat.

It’s now or probably never for Miami.

Boston -1.5 and the Over

You’d have to look long and hard to find an O/U number slimmer than the 179 that this game opened at. It’s down 5.5 from Game 1. But both teams shot poorly in Game 1, Miami scoring only 10 in the fourth period. That happens once in a series. Without Garnett, Miami figures to take the ball to the basket early and try to get Boston’s other bigs in foul trouble.

The Heat then would not have to resort to its outside game in the fourth quarter.

The parlay play here is obvious
