Team records:
Boston: 50-32 SU, 33-48-1 ATS
Cleveland: 61-21 SU, 37-43-2 ATS

The worst team in the league in offensive rebounding, the Celtics would kill for a 7-footer off the bench who could bring energy against the deep Cleveland Cavaliers. Someone who could stretch the defense with an occasional 3-pointer but also play with his back to the basket.

Matchup: CELTICS vs. CAVALIERS

Time: Monday 8 ET
Venue: Quicken Loans Arena, Cleveland
Spread: Cavaliers -6.5
Over/Under: 192.5

Someone who could defend both Zdrunas Ilgauskas on the perimeter and Shaq O’Neal on the block.

Someone like Rasheed Wallace.

Check that – someone like Rasheed Wallace who actually gives a damn.

The Celtics basically had to beg Wallace to sign on last summer, and the 3-year deal was praised in New England. When Wallace was a dog early in the year, everyone said wait until after the All-Star Game and he would kick it in gear. When he was a dog in March and early April, everyone said wait until the playoffs when the games really matter.

Now Celtics Nation has had a glimpse of Wallace 2.0, and the Playoffs Wallace has turned out to be not much different than Regular Season Wallace.

If anything, worse: Five games, 3.5 points a game, 7 for 20 from the field, 0 for 3 from beyond the 3-point line, and 14 personal fouls.

His playing time has dwindled to about 10 minutes a game (Celts management originally had him pegged for about 25-30), and he is being compared to Pervis Ellison, one of the all-time Celtics bowsers, who stole paychecks during the Rick Pitino era in Boston.

The media in Boston called out Wallace in mid-season, but the team – mindful of the albatross that his 3-year contract will be and the fact that the limited Shelden Williams is the only alternative – is reluctant to dump on Wallace publicly. What’s being said to him behind closed doors is anyone’s guess.

Wallace, it appears, will play a smaller and smaller role in the offense, and defensively he figures to just use his 6 fouls a game on O’Neal.

It’s apparent that he either can’t – or won’t – supply much else.

Celtics vs. Cavaliers Game 2 Free NBA Prediction

The Celtics’ poor play in the 4th quarter of Game 1 has people scratching their heads. Boston had actually built a double-digit lead before deciding that they could hold off the Cavs with jump shots. Sorry.

All that did was produce a loss, both for the Celtics and for bettors who were getting 7. Even a quiet 4th quarter couldn’t preserve the under, and over bettors cashed.

Liking the under here as the Celtics don’t figure to shoot as well over the first three periods.

Plain and simple. A healthy KG is the best 4 in the game. I’d been saying it all year. KG had the same injury and procedure that I had, and I was shocked that he played as well as he did during the season. It took me a little over 2 years before I could do anything without swelling. I was surprised that called experts keep saying that KG would never be the same. That is complete BS!

They know nothing of this type of injury. Your knee will swell for over a year, after meniscus repair when you do anything on it. Cavs got the best player in the world, but remember Celts got 3 of the top ten player in the league and still the best Power Forward on the planet. Cavs should be down 2-0!

They got dominated in game 1. The refs let the cavs back in game 1. Believe me, LJ doesn’t need help getting to the rim. I watch Paul Pierce get called for touch fouls after LJ gives him a stiff arm on the way to the rim.

If the refs actually called the all the fouls in game 1 and 2 the Cavs would have lost by 30 points in both games.
