ATS Matchup Insight | CappersPicks Insider Preview

Golden State tied the best of seven series after winning game four, 118-97 on Saturday.

The Warriors outplayed the Clippers and showed why the deserve to be in the postseason in the first place.

They dominated offensively, draining 55.4 percent from the field and 46.9 percent from beyond the arc.

The Warriors seem to be clicking as of late with their smaller starting lineup, shooting 47.3 percent over their last five games.

It’s no surprise that Stephen Curry led the way on Saturday with 33 points for the Warriors, who have lost only once in their last 21 games when scoring 100-plus points.

Defensively, Golden State isn’t faring as well, though, allowing 110 points in their last five games. They are however, putting pressure on their opponents, forcing nearly 17 turnovers per game over the same span.

In fact, the Warriors forced 19 LA turnovers in Sunday’s game four win in Oakland.

They also held the Clippers to just 42.9 percent from the field, and if it wasn’t for Blake Griffin, Los Angeles could have very well just packed it in after the opening tip off.

Griffin continued his domination of the Golden State defense over the weekend, and is shooting 60.9 percent and averaging 26 points for the series.

He has gotten a little help from the bench as of late, as Jamal Crawford has now combined for 39 points in his last two games.

Meanwhile, the Clippers, like the Warriors in previous games, have struggled defensively, allowing 106.2 points in their last five games.

Notes:

1. The Warriors’ 27 fast-break points in Game 4 were the most allowed by the Clippers this season.
2. Golden State hit 15 3-pointers in Game 4, with Curry (seven) and Klay Thompson combining for 10.
3. Los Angeles F Blake Griffin is shooting 64.3 percent in the last three games.

Matt’s Prediction:

The home team is 5-1 ATS in the last six meetings between these two teams. And this series has reflected that.

With each team scoring a ton of points one night, and then not cracking the 100-point mark the next, it’s hard to predict a straight up winner.

I know the odd makers have the Clippers as six-point favorites here, but I the over is the safer bet here.

The over is 10-3 in the last 13 meetings between these two teams and after the way the Warriors shot the ball in game four, it’s hard not to go that way here.

Warriors 111, Clippers 107
