In his 2nd game in a Heat jersey, Dragic led the way with 23 points and 10 assists. He’ll look to do the same Wednesday night as Miami hopes to continue it’s surge into the postseason. Orlando has won 4 of 6 since new head coach James Borrego took over. They’ll hope to continue their winning ways against a team they beat last time they met back on December 29th.

Miami

The Heat took a chance when they acquired PG Goran Dragic. Knowing he’ll more than likely not resign after this season, they hoped the rental player could produce some magic and help them sneak into the playoffs. While they sit 7 games below the break-even mark, they still currently hold the 7 seed in the Eastern Conference.

Things obviously will not be easy for Miami as they will be without F/C Chris Bosh for the remainder of the season. That means players like Hassan Whiteside will need to step up in a big way.

Along with Dragic, F Luol Deng and PG Mario Chalmers will need to pick up the scoring. Deng is averaging 14.4 points a game, while Chalmers is scoring 11.0.

On the road this season, Miami comes in with a 14-15 S.U. record. They have covered 16 of their road games, with 12 losses ATS and 1 push.

Orlando

While it isn’t hard to improve on the way the Magic have played all season, they are however doing some good things with a new head coach calling the shots. Orlando comes in with their longest winning streak of the season, winners of their last 3 games.

In their most previous performance on Sunday, Vucevic scored 31 points and grabbed 14 rebounds. Future star Victor Oladipo contributed 17 points.

Orlando’s stats won’t wow anybody on paper, but they do have some individual players who have shown they have great potential going forward. Nikola Vucevic is averaging a double-double with 19.8 points a game and 11.4 rebounds. F Tobias Harris has been a pleasant surprise as he has averaged 17.1 points a game.

Orlando is hoping Victor Oladipo can be the future face of the organization. So far, he’s giving people a reason to believe. Oladipo is averaging 16.7 points and 4.1 rebounds this season.

The only role the Magic can obviously play is spoiler as the season winds down, if they can continue to play like they’ve been, it should give the organization and fans something to believe in.

NBA Basketball Trends:

  • Heat are 8-3-1 ATS in their last 12 road games.
  • Heat are 6-18-2 ATS in their last 26 Wednesday games.
  • Magic are 3-1-1 ATS in their last 5 when their opponent allows 100 points or more in their previous game.
  • Magic are 5-2-1 ATS in their last 8 games overall.

Free 4* NBA Basketball Pick: Miami -3

After seeing what Goran Dragic can do, Miami could be a dangerous team come playoff time. First and foremost though, they have to get there.

Miami 103, Orlando 93

To get there, winning games like these are a must. Wade and Dragic lead the way as Miami rolls down in Orlando.
