Atlanta hadn’t lost in 2015 until Monday and Washington is currently on their longest losing streak this year.

Washington

The Wizards are looking to avoid their fourth straight loss which would be their longest of the season.

Over the three game span Washington is surrendering 106 points per game, eight points higher than their season average of 98.

John Wall and company have already been beaten twice by Hawks this year, including a 31-point blowout last month.

Currently, Washington sits second in the East nine games behind Atlanta. Coach Randy Wittman wants his team to bring the same intensity every night no matter who they are playing.

Standout point guard John Wall is listed as day-t0-day with a sprained right ankle and migraine-like headaches, but is expected to play tonight. In their loss against Charlotte on Monday, Wall posted his sixth double-double in the last eight games with 16 points and 10 assists.

Wall is arguably having the best year of his career averaging 17.4 points per game on 46% shooting to go along with 10.2 assists.

Shooting guard Bradley Beal is far from happy with his team’s effort the past three games. Although his play has been fine, posting 18 points and a season-best 11 rebounds in the loss on Monday.

If Washington wants to win they will have to major contributions from Wall and Beal.

Atlanta

For the first time in over a month the Atlanta Hawks have been defeated. The streak lasted for 19 games, setting a franchise record and marking the fifth longest streak in the history of the NBA. The Hawks lost 115-100 on Monday to Anthony Davis and the New Orleans Pelicans.

Atlanta does still have one streak going.

Ten in a row at home. The reason why the Hawks have been so good all year is because of the consistency of the starters. Power forward Paul Millsap is averaging 17.2 points per game to go along with 8.0 rebounds and has scored in double figures in 25 straight games.

Point guard Jeff Teague is averaging 16.8 points along with 7.5 assists and has scored in double digits a career-best 20 straight.

Chemistry and consistency have been the principles the Hawks preach. Each starter averages double-digit points, except for Kent Bazemore who is filling in for DeMarre Carroll. Carroll tweaked his achilles and has missed the past two games.

The Hawks, who currently hold the best record in the league, have three players getting all-star nods this year.

Horford, Teague, and Millsap are all heading to New York to participate in all-star weekend.

Despite the three all-stars, the Hawks have sharpshooter Kyle Korver.

Korver is on record-setting pace for shooting this year by shooting 54% from three-point line, 92% from the free-throw line, and 52% from the field.

NBA Handicapping Tips:

  • Hawks are 4-0 ATS in their last four games following a S.U. loss.
  • Wizards are 0-4 ATS in their last four road games.
  • Wizards are 0-6 ATS in their last six games after a ATS loss.
  • Hawks are 11-0 ATS in their last 11 games against a team with a winning % above .600.
  • Hawks are 10-2 ATS in their last 12 games after allowing 100 points or more in their previous game.

NBA Gambling Prediction

Expect the Hawks to begin another winning streak tonight. Washington has a banged up John Wall and is not playing very good basketball.

The Wizards loss on Monday was one of their worst games of the season, if not their worst. Atlanta has a big front court that can match Washington and give them problems from the outside.

Look for this game to be close, but Atlanta will finish strong and end up covering the spread.

Free 4* NBA Betting Pick: ATL -5.5

Washington will keep it close, but free throws down the stretch will be the reason Atlanta will cover the spread.

Atlanta 102, Washington 93
