The Raptors are struggling with their confidence right now and need to exert some authority with a win in this one.

Toronto

The Raptors are entering this one a little more desperate than expected after back to back home losses.

It was bad enough to not show up against Atlanta, who is beating everybody but to squander a lead against New Orleans is a very bad sign.

They have been very good at home this season for the most part but this might be one of those situations where hitting the road is the best thing for them.

There can’t be too many distractions in Milwaukee in the middle of winter.

DeMar DeRozan has scored 20 or more points in all three games since coming back from injury but the Raptors have only a win over lowly Philadelphia to show for it.

After he first got hurt they were still playing at a high level but they were struggling even before he was back in the lineup.

Over the last little while the Raptors have gotten nothing from SF Terrence Ross. They don’t need much but he needs to be a contributor.

Milwaukee

As we come into the midway point of the season Milwaukee is still one of the more pleasant surprises in the NBA.

They are a couple of game over .500 and currently hold the 5th spot in the Eastern Conference.

The Bucks have built their record by beating up the weaker team in the league and this year there are a lot of them.

The last time they played Toronto they were destroyed so this is a chance for them to prove that they are more than just a bottom feeder.

It is not their fault the competition is light this season.

As impressive as anything is that the Bucks continue to play well even without rookie Jabari Parker.

It certainly looks like he has a bright future and they have been showing a lot by being able to continue to play well in his absence.

Beating Toronto will be a challenge for this limited team. I have never been a fan of PG Brandon Knight but the tutelage of Jason Kidds seems to be paying off so far.

NBA Handicapping Trends:

  • Raptors are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games vs. a team with a winning S.U. record.
  • Raptors are 1-7 ATS in their last 8 games overall.
  • Raptors are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games playing on 0 days rest.
  • Under is 4-0 in Bucks last 4 games vs. a team with a winning % above .600.
  • Over is 4-0 in Bucks last 4 vs. a team with a winning S.U. record.
  • Under is 5-0 in Bucks last 5 home games.
  • Over is 4-0 in the last 4 meetings.
  • Raptors are 3-1-1 ATS in the last 5 meetings.
  • Under is 5-2 in the last 7 meetings in Milwaukee.

NBA Prediction:  Toronto -1

I know the Raptors have been struggling but this is a nice opportunity to buy low at a huge value.

NBA Score prediction:  Toronto 106 – Milwaukee 95

They have been sharp in back to back and will rise to the occasion here.
