Both teams enter this contest on losing streaks and emotions will be running high on each side.

Phoenix

The Suns come into this game off a blowout loss to the Spurs on Friday, 101-74. Phoenix has not been playing well as of late, especially since the loss of Dragic, and are only 3-7 in the last ten games.

Last game against the Spurs was record setting for the Suns, but not in a good way. Phoenix set the franchise record for lowest points in a half with 24 and shot 29.8 percent from the field, the worst shooting performance in nearly nine years.

However, forward Marcus Morris has stepped up his play in the last few games. Morris dropped 19 off the bench last game and has raised his points per game to 15.1.

Newly acquired point guard Brandon Knight is not expected to play tonight after injuring his hip in the first quarter against the Spurs. Knight was unable to return last game and will be a major loss for the Suns because he averages 17.4 points per contest.

Miami

The Heat currently sit a half-game ahead of the Brooklyn Nets for the seventh seed in the East. Dwayne Wade and company have not played particularly well at home this season with a record of just 10-17. They will look to avoid their third consecutive loss and remain in the playoff picture for now.

Forward, Luol Deng, has been playing some of the best basketball of his career and has always played well against Phoenix. Deng scored 23 in the last meeting with the Suns in which the Heat won their ninth consecutive in the series.

In the last three meetings with the Suns, Deng is averaging 19.7 points per game on 54.8 percent shooting.

Center, Hassan Whiteside, has provided a huge boost for the Heat this year.

[dfads params=’groups=63741&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]

Whitened is nearly averaging a double double with 10.6 points per game to go along with 9.6 rebounds and a remarkable 2.42 blocks.

NBA Handicapping Tips:

  • Miami is 4-0-1 ATS in their last five games vs. NBA Pacific.
  • Phoenix is 2-8 ATS in their last ten games playing on 1 days rest.
  • Under is 4-0 in the last four meetings.
  • Favorite is 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings.

NBA Gambling Prediction

Dragic will come out playing with a chip on his shoulder and will really want to win this game. With Deng and Whiteside playing excellent and Wade’s veteran leadership, the Heat should be able to take this one. With Brandon Knight most likely not playing tonight, the Heat will take advantage of the point guard matchup.

Free 4* NBA Betting Pick: MIA -3.5

Miami will snap their two-game losing streak and continue to hold the seventh seed. Dragic will put up good numbers tonight to show Phoenix what they don’t have anymore.

Miami 101, Phoenix 94
