The Rockets were definitely not sluggish early as they led after the first quarter.

They gave up the lead but they hung in there in a very closely contested game. Still this was a loss and the Rockets are going to have to figure out how to win at Golden State if they hope to advance. The last time they did that was back in 2013.
Not the longest streak in the world but an indicator that they have had their struggles with the Warriors.
They might have missed their best chance to stun them.

In the opener James Harden had nearly a triple double but it still wasn’t enough.
Trevor Ariza was making his shots but I still don’t understand what is going through the mind of Josh Smith and how he can take as many shots as he does, even when he is missing. It is like he is channeling his inner John Starks.
It is hard to ask any more of Harden but Dwight Howard could certainly step up.
Golden State
The Warriors took the Rockets bets punch in the opener finishing down at the end of the first quarter. They zoomed back to take the lead in the second and after that it was a pretty tight game.
The final numbers show that they won despite having much efficiency and with a complete zero in the pivot.
That is not a battle they need to win but it was more magnified because backup center Marreese Speights is out indefinitely and he can be an effective player.
Steph Curry was very sharp in game one but you expect him to be so you can make an argument that Shaun Livingston was the player of the game for the Warriors.
He scored 18 points off the bench while playing a strong floor game.

The Warriors are playing a lot of small ball and he gives them someone with some length that can really handle. He chipped in with seven rebounds too.
