Does Fading the General Public Create NBA Picks Profits?
It has been written many times in the past that the majority of bettors do not make money with their NBA picks. Because of this you have many “experts” who make a living touting that if you generally go against the public that you’ll create profitable NBA picks!So, as I usually do, I decided to take a look at last weeks (3/2 to 3/8) NBA Picks action to see if in fact we could have created some profitable betting angles. Below are the actual results:

All Sides — 23-25 ATS (47%) — Season Record: 427-472 (48%)
So, if you were to bet with the side that generated at least 51% of the public’s action you would have made your bookmaker very happy both last week and for the season.
Since this angle seemed to produce some NBA Picks profit opportunities I thought “what if over 80% of the general public picked a certain side”?….Surely that should even be more of an angle to grab the cash. Let’s see:
All Sides — 3-5 ATS (38%) — Season Record: 83-83 (49%)
Again, we show that betting with the public in the NBA both last week and for the season has not been a very profitable NBA Picks angle.
While the above analysis certainly points us to fading the general public it is only one of many pieces of information that I use when deciding my NBA Picks.
