A magic elixir may not exist for the Bucks, who got a combined total of 48 points from their two volume scorers, Brandon Jennings and Monte Ellis, and forced LeBron James to turn the ball over 5 times — and still got poked by 23 (110-87) in the first game of the series.

Milwaukee, the worst of the best in these playoffs, simply does not have enough candle power to hang with the Heat. The Bucks know it, and realize they have to play a better-than-perfect Game 2 to steal one of two in Miami and see what happens when the series heads to beer town for Games 3 and 4 on Thursday and Sunday.

What do the Heat know? They know that if they stay healthy and play anywhere close to what they are capable of, they go up 2-0 on Tuesday, finish things off Sunday and get on a plane where they can nonchalantly file their nails and wait for the next opponent.

Jennings had predicted that the Bucks would win the series in six games (“All the pressure is on them,” he said before the series). Unfortunately for Jennings, the Heat played as if there was no pressure at all in Game 1.

James got his usual 27 points on only 11 shots, and while the Bucks were trying to slow him down enough to ask for his autograph, the likes of Ray Allen (20) and Chris Andersen were doing damage. If there is a formula for beating the Heat, it’s locked up with the recipe for the special sauce used on Big Macs. [ad-6571516]

Milwaukee’s best weapon could be the hope that Miami is already bored by the series and longs for a real playoff matchup that will force the Heat to concentrate a bit more. After all, Miami has lost to Washington and Detroit as well as the Bucks this season.

That will have to wait for at least a week, though, as they finish this series only to fulfill NBA requirements and make a few bucks on hot dogs.

Oddsmakers bumped up the number a half-point after the Game 1 demolition and now have the Heat giving 13.5.

It’s interesting to note that in the Heat’s championship run last year, every Game 2 of all four series (New York, Indiana, Boston at home, Oklahoma City on the road) was closer than each Game 1 of the series. Miami rarely makes defensive adjustments and relies on its athleticism and spreading the floor to create mismatches.

Milwaukee, though, will have to empty the strategy bag in this one. Bucks to cover the big number as Game 2 results continue this season.
